Anthony operates one of the largest private training programs for goaltenders in the W.N.Y. area. He has trained many individuals with skills ranging from beginner to advanced levels. Anthony's goaltenders have participated in the OHL, USHL and other various leagues. A number of his goaltenders also played in various Junior Hockey programs. Anthony's students are taught to "Read and React" and to make the "Proper Save Selections". Anthony stresses mental and attitudinal preparation so his students can be "IN THE ZONE" at game time. |
 Why private training? Because most head coaches will tell you they have limited or no experience when it comes to teaching their goalies what they need to know to make them better. Team practices for the most part focus on developing the skills of the Forwards and Defensemen which usually leaves the goalie as just a target for the players to shoot at. The end result is that the goaltender doesn't really learn what they need to, so they can be sharp come game time. However at game time, the mistakes of a goaltender with little or no training is often the focus of attention and is usually at blame for letting a game slip away.
